Wake to peace and solitude in the Blue Ridge Mountains. Grab your coffee and sit out on deck rocking chairs overlooking the backyard creek. In the early a.m. and later evening you just may see a mama doe deer and her yearlings drinking from the creek while grazing.
2nd Level Entry
The 2nd level entrance has stairs wide enough for your excited party to beat you to the top. The pay off for carrying up your supplies comes with scenic elevated views of mountain wildlife.
Open Main Level
Wide Open Spaces. Experience the Above The Rest feeling as you enter this open, uncluttered, cozy cabin of luxury elegance. The hardwood floors complement the heart pine wall to ceiling paneling. Kitchen & Dining. The main harvest table seats twelve. Off the dining areas is a fully stocked, open and airy kitchen with spacious countertops. The island seats a breakfast bunch awaiting your hosting sensibilities. Living Room Lounging. Hear and smell the crackling oak in the warmth of a floor to ceiling, mountain stone, wood-burning fireplace. Watch TV on a big screen conveniently off to the side of the fireplace. Inescapable Draw. Plenty of seating around the wood-burning fireplace will beckon lounge seekers who may not escape the gravity of this lethargic den.
Screened-In Patio Hot Tub
On the main is a comfortable, extra-strength, pain relieving, hot tub. Take a soothing soak while taking in the mountain scents and sounds. This tub was drained, sanitized, filled with clean mountain spring water, and pH-balanced before your arrival. The nearby gas log fireplace will kill any chill when exiting the tub. Edged with rockers, this cozy screened-in porch will be an evening highlight.
Top Loft Master Suite
The master loft suite has a king bed and a private balcony to spend some quality time together. Equipped with a jacuzzi tub and separate shower occupies the master bath, this room can’t be beat!
Top Loft Bunker
Complementing the impressive master suite are TWO Twin Over full bunk beds! Even more, stairs to a secret ‘loft above the loft includes two futons!
Lower Level Bedrooms & Entertainment
Bedrooms & Bath. Plenty of sleeping accommodations down below with a private King bedroom, private Queen bedroom, AND a Twin-over-Queen bunk! The King has beautiful views and private access to the lower patio, hammock, and rocker. All three bedrooms share a full bathroom with tub/shower combo and laundry area. Entertainment. A wet bar serves billiard game activities. It may be tough getting the pool sharks to come up stairs for a feeding.!
Firepit
When darkness falls, gather around the firepit. Enjoy roasted marshmallow moments, good conversation, and lots of laughs amid a nocturnal wildlife soundtrack and trickling creek. On clear nights, don’t forget to look up and be humbled by a diamond-studded sky you don’t see in the city.

The purpose of the stay was a family reunion and the cabins offered the perfect venue. A cabin big enough for satellite families to stay to together AND a selection of cabins nearby such that all could visit the host parent family and others, easily. The planning started 11 months before the event. John, ATR office, was involved in the planning from the onset and was so incredibly helpful and knowledgeable throughout the planning from cabin suggestions, to cabin changes and everything in between up to the day of checking in. John is a real asset to ATR, a keeper for sure!

I did not stay at Antler Lodge, I switched my cabin to S'More Sunsets because late cancellations did not warrant the 13 guest accommodations that Antler Lodge offered. So I switched to S'More Sunsets for the views and smaller accommodations. ATR makes sure all cabins are equipped, furnished and appointed above standards and luxury level. All cabins have all the necessary personal amenities i.e. robes, slippers, coffee, dish washing pods, garbage bags, backup toilet paper... Outside of groceries and beverages, there really is no need to bring anything. I started staying at ATR cabins over 20 years ago when I first moved to GA with my 2 young children (5 YO and 3 YO) at the time. I hosted a wedding party there. We took weekend vacations at ATR over the years. ATR was never in need of improvement, but improve over the years they did. They constantly aim to impress and stand ABOVE THE REST.

This was a wonderful property. It is exactly as described. Beautiful, clean and comfortable. The fact that they had firewood at the cabin ready for use was amazing. We didn't have to go shopping for that. It is fairly remote but made for a very relaxing time. The views were amazing and we enjoyed our time.

The only members of the team we had concerns about were the cleaning crew because they arrived before our checkout time and sat in the driveway which annoyed us because we felt rushed when trying to complete all of the checkout tasks before we left.

We absolutely adored the fine touches of appreciation left by the staff from the lavender to soak in a bubble bath and robes in the closets to enjoy on a chilly morning to the chocolates coffee and tea left for us on arrival and doggie treats for our fur baby. They pay attention to the finer details

This property is exactly as advertised. Looks just like the pics. We had two families with elementary, middle and high school aged kids (11 people total). There was plenty of room and we liked how the living space is mostly upper floor and basement with hangout space on the main floor. The hot tub was a high demand location, comfortably fitting 4 adults. Dining space worked well for our size and the couch is big enough for almost everyone. The stairs to the loft over the loft with the two "futons" are very steep and shallow so not a space for anyone but usable for kids ages 8-12 or so. Outdoor area is great and we used it a bunch. Location is awesome being close to Blueridge restaurants, shops and touristy things as well as hikes and other outdoor adventures. We would definitely stay again.

We were so impressed that the owner of Above the Rest Cabins contacted us when he thought our power might be out with a storm (it wasn't out) but he just wanted to check with us to be sure we were OK. That was extremely kind and went above and beyond.

Again, we were so impressed with the entire stay. The process was easy (online, etc.) and getting in the lodge was very easy. We had everything we needed-- towels, linens, firewood, kitchen items, etc. There was nothing more we could have asked for or needed. We give this the highest marks. It was by far one of our most favorite vacation destinations.
