Project Chimps

Project Chimps

Project Chimps gives lifelong, exemplary care to chimpanzees retired from research at its 236-acre forested sanctuary in the Blue Ridge Mountains. Hiking Trails are open daily. The sanctuary, however, is not open for daily admission, but several special events are hosted throughout the year. Plus, special opportunities exist for private group tours to show their support of the sanctuary. Call to request your tour.

Blue Ridge Scenic Railway

Blue Ridge Scenic Railway

An event the whole family can enjoy, relax on a train ride through beautiful North Georgia.

Starting at the historic depot in downtown Blue Ridge, riders take a four-hour, 26-mile roundtrip journey along the Toccoa River through the North Georgia countryside. The first leg of the adventure takes you on a one hour trip to the quaint sister towns of McCaysville, Georgia and Copperhill, Tennessee, nestled deep in the mountains on each state`s line. Passengers enjoy all the towns have to offer during a two-hour layover before taking the one-hour return trip through the scenic forest and back to the depot in Blue Ridge, Georgia.
